Mount Olive Lutheran Church

About Us

Sunday School at 9:00am, Divine Worship at 10:00am
2005 S. Houghton Rd, Tucson, AZ 85748

We are traditional Christians who believe that all of the Scriptures are the Word of God and we are dedicated to spreading the pure and saving Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community and beyond

Mount Olive Lutheran Church began worship on May 7, 1972, as an English District mission.  We are a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Our Pastor is the Rev Dr. Frank G. Ciampa

Some of our key beliefs:

* We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God; it is inerrant (without error). We believe the human writers were inspired by God to write these works, which are His own words.

* We believe that there is only One God, in Three “Persons” (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

* We believe that God the Father is our Creator, that Jesus Christ, His Son, is our Redeemer and the Holy Spirit sanctifies and preserves us in the faith.

* We recognize
Color%20rose%20JPG%2072%20dpi.jpg that our ancestors, Adam and Eve, brought sinfulness into the world and that the “wages of sin are death (Rom 6:23).” We further recognize that the three sources of sin are the devil, the world, and ourselves.

* We believe that we are in need of a Savior and that our Savior is Jesus the Christ (Messiah). Jesus took upon himself the sins of the world, suffered for us and was crucified for us and for our salvation (Jn 3:16-17). Jesus is the only way to the Father.

* We believe that we are saved by God’s grace through faith alone (Eph 2:8).

* We believe that Jesus is not only our Savior, but also our Lord and He has commanded us to live our faith by doing good deeds for others and telling the Good News about Jesus Christ.

* We believe that during worship the Holy Spirit strengthens and forgives us through the Word and the Sacraments.
